Ways to Build Muscle

The fastest way to build muscle and by that I mean build big muscle should -in a similar way to all other fitness goals- follow a combined, focused attitude towards your Training, Diet and Exercise. This focus will ensure you gain maximum muscle from your program.Your muscles get damaged when you train hard enough and your body repairs them plus add a little extra more muscle, after you have finished training. This is how you build new muscle. To keep this progress going you must be doing more work every time in the gym to cause this damage. If you keep doing the same reps and weight every week, you will not cause any damage. Therefore no new muscle will grow.You may have heard the theory of "you have to eat big to get big". Do not believe it, it is completely wrong, it's a very unhealthy approach and may end up doing you more damage than good. Yes you may get the required levels of protein to build muscle if you adopt this method, but you also over-consume the amount of fats, carbohydrates and sugars which will lead to rapid weight gain (fat not muscle) and an incredible strain placed on your digestive system.

Firstly we want to apply the greatest stress to the muscles in the shortest possible time. The most optimum way to do this is to pick up the heaviest weight possible for the fewest repetitions. Thus the goal is to get to the point where you cannot pick up the weights more than 5 to 7 times. If you do loads of repetitions then you will get to stage of self defeating as the body will then start to break down muscle for energy to support your efforts.You need to target multiple muscle groups instead of focusing on them one at a time if you want to build up muscle mass fast. So instead of exercising back muscles one day, leg muscles another, and abs the day after that, include them all in each one of your workouts. That way it will take less time to achieve the results that you want.

Once you have taken a muscle to complete failure, there is no need to do any more work. You have done all that is necessary to stimulate muscle growth. Now all you have to do is give your muscles enough time to recover and grow stronger. Doing any more work, is then pointless and can interfere with your recovery.You are aiming for exhaustion. Your muscle should be completely exhausted during the final rep of your final set. If you discover that your muscles are too tired and you start to lose form before your last rep - you are probably using too much weight.When that happens, you'll hit a plateau and like it or not, the benefits of weight training will begin to fade away. To put a stop to this, increase the weight size and change exercises.If you don't have the dedication, commitment or desire to follow the program as it is laid out for you, then I guarantee you will quit inside 3 months. If you want to build muscle fast and develop a body you are proud of then make sure you have the right attitude and you are dedicated to achieving this goal!
